Midpoint Domain Geometry
The central question of the midpoint sequence is whether a stable geometric relationship exists between the Antarctic entrance domain, the Mariana exit domain, and the Hawaiian midpoint domain.
If such a relationship survives uncertainty testing, the reconstruction gains a significant additional constraint.
Geometric Evaluation
The framework evaluates:
- great-circle compatibility;
- midpoint stability;
- domain-scale uncertainty;
- alternative midpoint candidates.
Constraint Function
The midpoint domain is valuable because it creates opportunities for falsification.
A viable midpoint relationship should remain stable under reasonable reconstruction assumptions and should outperform arbitrary alternatives.
