The Dead Sea Rift represents one of the most extreme basin expressions examined in the challenge. Previous papers focused on depth, anomaly characterization, and observation-versus-interpretation frameworks.
This paper formalizes the basin using geometric descriptors including depth concentration, confinement ratio, elongation, continuity, and regional context.
By establishing measurable structural descriptors, basin systems can be compared directly against other geological environments without requiring identical tectonic settings.
The framework introduced here is intended to support future comparisons involving basins, trenches, depressions, and other low-elevation structural expressions.
This paper extends the Week 7 formalization framework into extreme basin environments.
